There is a story that is told in different ways but that basically involves a Christian and a lion. Let's set it in ancient times and say that the Christian encounters the lion in a Roman amphitheatre. The Christian prays that the lion who is surely going to eat him will instead be turned into a Christian and so he will be spared. Amazingly, no sooner does the Christian finish praying than he sees the lion kneel down on the ground and start to pray. What an answer to prayer! But as he draws nearer to the lion what does he hear but the lion praying, "For what I am about to receive may the Lord make me truly thankful"!
